In 1997, Mrs. Fatma El Barbary founded HIJAB STYLE – only offering veil designs and professional make-up at first. But how did it all start?
On her wedding, she faced the usual dilemma – should she take off her hijab or not? At that time, people thought that to look beautiful on your wedding, you have to wear a ‘regular’ dress, without a head scarf. But she couldn’t take it off. So, she designed her own wedding dress and veil to suit her hijab – and it did, so well that her network of friends kept asking her about it for a long while.
That’s when she thought of it – an institution that offers veiled women around the world the chance to look superb and at the same time, keep their precious veil. AKA HIJAB STYLE.
